Lekker Media helps the CLCV find a greener governor in 2010

The California League of Conservation Voters hosted an event this summer that focused on the environmental issues that the next governor of California would have to contend with. The GreenGov 2010 event also honored the (apparently already) Honorable William Newsom, retired apellate judge and father to SF’s outgoing mayor, Gavin Newsom. Lekker Media donated it’s services to help document the event, shooting several interviews for the CLCV to edit and add to other video they had shot in support of their objectives.

Among these interviews was this one with Mayor Newsom, who confessed he was a big fan of Lekker Media Creative Associate Anthony Veneziale’s shoes. The shoes, decorated with the complete layout of the Barcelona Metro system, sadly did not make it into the final cut of the mayor’s interview despite their ecologically conscious support of public transport…

Take the time to check out the CLCV website and the GreenGov videos – they are indeed worthwhile!

Lekker video for Adobe on HTML5 tool – over 62,000 hits in less than a month!

Lekker Media shot and edited a demo video for Adobe Systems, Inc. in support of the announcement of their new HTML5 tool currently in development, codenamed ‘Edge’. The video was shot, edited, and in final approvals in the space of a day and a half. The excitement around the announcement helped generate over 62,000 hits in three weeks, spreading the news about the new product-to-be – word on the street is that it will be renamed in order to keep the branding clear of the Adobe Edge Newsletter, featured videos for which Lekker Media also produces.

You can see the video in context here:

Lekker Media creates broadcast PSA for the spanish-speaking community in CA

Lekker recently completed a PSA on the dangers of pertussis for the spanish-speaking community in California. It features a woman who actually went through the incredibly tragic loss of  her son Dylan, due to his contracting the virus from her – pertussis can appear almost exactly like a simple cold in adults. The 30-second spot was shot for the California Department of Public Health in cooperation with Latino Agency of SF.

Lekker's amazing crew

One of my favorite views of SF – from the top of the Baker Hamilton building at 7th & Townsend. And with a fantastic crew…!

Profiling media studio Trigger and their app for the Green Hornet movie

Lekker Media took a little trip to Los Angeles with the good people of Adobe Systems, Inc. to profile the media wünderkinden of Trigger and their experience taking their web-based punch-em’-up game to the Android mobile OS using Adobe’s AIR platform. Technical mumbo-jumbo aside – the game kicks ass and works incredibly well on a phone!!

This was our second shoot with the Canon 5D camera and some really beautiful glass to make it all really delightful to look at in edit, and (hopefully you’ll agree!)in the final product as well.

The Committee at the SF Improv Festival

San Francisco comedy legends, The Committee, reformed for a panel discussion on the roots of modern sketch and improv comedy in our fair city August 14th, 2010 at the Eureka Theater. Lekker Media, a proud San Francisco Improv Festival sponsor, was on hand to catch them give their first live performance in over 25 years, with their “Star Spangled Banner” sketch, with the help of Howard Johnson (author of the improvisors bible, “Truth in Comedy”). These guys are all the real deal.
