Social Media Overload: Short-form Comedy for Adobe (Episode 2)

Here’s the latest from Lekker Media, in support of Adobe’s 2013 Summit event for Digital Marketing. Written, produced and directed by Lekker Media Creative Director, Jamie Wright, the piece was created with others in a tight timeframe & budget to help spread the word on the event via related themes and a large helping of ridiculousness.

Featuring the talents of Bay Area improvisor Christy Daly, DP Peggy Peralta, Antoinette Yoka (Makeup), Jules Kobelin (Properties), and Lourdes Figueroa (Camera Assistant). Special thanks to Adobe’s Lynn Margherita & Matt Rozen.

Analyze the Analyst: Short-form Comedy for Adobe (Episode 1)

Here’s the first in a series of two videos in support of Adobe’s 2013 Summit event for Digital Marketing. Written, produced and directed by LekkerMedia Creative Director, Jamie Wright (that’s me!), the piece was created with others in a tight timeframe & budget to help spread the word on the event via related themes and a large helping of ridiculousness.

I generally like the ridiculous, which is why I think this works. When you have something super silly with a real premise, delivered in a totally committed way by a talented actor, you can get some great results.

Thanks to Bay Area improvisor Rebecca Poretsky for her performance and the work of DP Peggy Peralta, Antoinette Yoka (Makeup), Jules Kobelin (Properties), and Lourdes Figueroa (Camera Assistant). Special thanks to Adobe’s Lynn Margherita & Matt Rozen.

California Senior Leaders Program – a foray into documentary filmmaking

Lekker Media was asked to work with the UC Berkeley School of Public Health to help train doctoral students in community filmmaking in 2011. As a result of this connection, I worked with the program to produce a documentary on the California Senior Leaders Program to help recognize 10 years as an organization.

It was a fantastic experience on a number of levels: One – I got to make a somewhat longer-form documentary piece than the usual profile for the web; Two – I was privileged to meet these fantastic and inspirational people who had been activists all their lives & now, because they are seniors, turned their skills and talents to solving the problems of our aging population.

Really amazing people & a really amazing program that the UC Berkeley School of Public Health has created with these people.

Lekker Media’s latest – Adobe’s big announcement @ CES 2011

Lekker Media created the support video for Adobe Systems‘ major CES 2011 announcement of their latest developments in their AIR for TV platform. Adobe’s technology is shipping inside every Samsung Smart LCD TV and Smart Blu-Ray player they will be making in 2011. This is Lekker’s second production in support of announcements on AIR for TV, and was completed within the space of two days. Check out the blog on the announcement and view the video here.

Lekker Media helps the CLCV find a greener governor in 2010

The California League of Conservation Voters hosted an event this summer that focused on the environmental issues that the next governor of California would have to contend with. The GreenGov 2010 event also honored the (apparently already) Honorable William Newsom, retired apellate judge and father to SF’s outgoing mayor, Gavin Newsom. Lekker Media donated it’s services to help document the event, shooting several interviews for the CLCV to edit and add to other video they had shot in support of their objectives.

Among these interviews was this one with Mayor Newsom, who confessed he was a big fan of Lekker Media Creative Associate Anthony Veneziale’s shoes. The shoes, decorated with the complete layout of the Barcelona Metro system, sadly did not make it into the final cut of the mayor’s interview despite their ecologically conscious support of public transport…

Take the time to check out the CLCV website and the GreenGov videos – they are indeed worthwhile!

Lekker video for Adobe on HTML5 tool – over 62,000 hits in less than a month!

Lekker Media shot and edited a demo video for Adobe Systems, Inc. in support of the announcement of their new HTML5 tool currently in development, codenamed ‘Edge’. The video was shot, edited, and in final approvals in the space of a day and a half. The excitement around the announcement helped generate over 62,000 hits in three weeks, spreading the news about the new product-to-be – word on the street is that it will be renamed in order to keep the branding clear of the Adobe Edge Newsletter, featured videos for which Lekker Media also produces.

You can see the video in context here:

Lekker Media creates broadcast PSA for the spanish-speaking community in CA

Lekker recently completed a PSA on the dangers of pertussis for the spanish-speaking community in California. It features a woman who actually went through the incredibly tragic loss of  her son Dylan, due to his contracting the virus from her – pertussis can appear almost exactly like a simple cold in adults. The 30-second spot was shot for the California Department of Public Health in cooperation with Latino Agency of SF.
